FiveMinuteTour.com # 37 - Sueño Tropical Villa in Hacienda El Choco, Dominican Republic The villa is located on a hill above Sosua, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. The 11,000 M2 offers a 32-kilometer ocean view. The Surrounding area has 24 hour security. An electric wrought-iron gate opens the path to the villa and leads to it by passing large islands planted with bromelias and orchids. The 39 spotlights transform the park into the scene of a fairytale at night. The villa has its own power supply and the crystal clear drinking water comes from several artesian wells. The water is stored on the property in a huge cistern. Each spot on the property and each room offer a breathtaking view of the emerald green ocean, the surrounding mountains, valleys and palm forests. The park contains the entire exotic tropical flora, 32 island in the park are artfully and lavishly decorated and planted. Flagstone paths lead through the whole property. The pool with integrated Jacuzzi is located on an elevated terrace. The villa has a construction area of 1,000-square meter. The 60-square meter entrance hall has a large fountain made of coral rocks. The gallery above is elliptical and has a glass dome, offering a beautiful view of the tropical stars at night. The entrance hall leads to the Moorish living room with a canopy of round arches and 6 colunms housing the indirect lighting. A round limestone arch leads to an 8-square meter closet made out of mahogany and used as cloakroom, for shoes and other equipment. En suite is a changing room and outside the two showers made of limestone. To the left of the entrance hall, passing a round arch, is the dining room with two double doors and a panoramic window offering a view of the ocean. The 40-square meter beautiful mahogany kitchen with tiles all through is equipped with all electric appliances and leaves nothing to be desired. A mahogany staircase leads to the gallery and from there to an open-air bar covered with a roof. To the left is the 30-square meter master bedroom with six windows and 4 doors, leading to the front and to the back of the terrace that surrounds the entire house. The 20-square meter bathroom with a tiled bathtub and shower is housed in an oriel with a round arch. En suite to every bedroom is a totally equipped 8-square meter dressing room. En other other bedroom has a hexagonal form with 6 columns and stucco with indirect illumination, 1 window and 2 great doors lead again to the terrace, one door to the round arch bathroom with pink tiles. This room also has its own 5 x 2 meter dressing room. At the end of the terrace surrounding the house, on the first floor there is a gazebo with a roof, stonework benches and tables. All housekeeping is done in the service area that has a room for the electric power supply, a hobby room, a storage room for garden implements, a laundry room, an ironing room, a bedroom with toilet and shower for the maid and a patio for the personnel. 3 bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning, all the other rooms have ceiling fans. In order to better understand the dimensions of the house, here is some extra data: The villa has 38 mahogany windows and 50 doors; 38 exterior lamps are installed on the outside walls of the house, transforming the villa into a fairytale castle at night. 30 artfully designed ceramic lamps on pedestals are installed along the garden paths and the garden is illuminated by 39 garden spots at night. The pool spots transform the pool into a turquoise lagoon at night. This spot offers on one side a spectacular view of the Cordillera Septentrional with palm forests, and on the other side a view of the majestic “San Isabel de Torres” mountain and the sparkling ocean. A mahogany staircase leads to the sensational tower room with a roof terrace that offers a breathtaking 32-kilometer ocean view, from Cabarete to Puerto Plata.
